Details: The Center for Career Changers in the Classroom approached us with existing print materials and a need to translate them into a web presence. We began by pulling design elements from their brochure, letterhead, and business card, then built a robust site using Drupal - a content management solution - allowing them to update their site at a moment's notice.

Details: Maryland-based Shazam Magic needed a website and logo that appealed to a variety of clients, while conveying a sense of fun and magic that they offer. The theme of “pick a card” was used to convey the sophisticated side of magic, while the content is more colorful and driven by photos.
The website generates 90% of their business, with a successful Google Ads campaign funneling web users in.

Details: Having enlisted our services for his website, Gordo the Magician called on us once again to create a memorable business card that tied into his online identity.
The result, especially when printed on glossy stock, conveys the message of "dark and mysterious," as well as "fun and magical."

Details: Washington DC's leading children's entertainer came to us looking for a logo that would really pop.
A slightly retro look is employed with the background stars, and a reference to his namesake makes the background green.

Details: A photographer‘s portfolio is more important than any descriptions or testimonials on a site, and Kelly Hahn Johnson realized this.
We created a simple interface that features one of Kelly‘s photos prominently, since they roughly equal a thousand words. A custom contact form was integrated into the Contact page, providing visitors several methods with which to contact Ms. Johnson.

Details: Shazam Magic wanted a logo that worked on several levels, and we went though several versions until they were able to come up with a dynamite idea.
Using the letters S and M, a rabbit in the hat was created, giving a double-meaning to the logo, as well as creating a versatile icon that has been used on the Shazam Magic website, letterhead, and other advertising materials.

Details: Embroidered team shirts aren’t just for bowling leagues – we designed a logo for the Late Night Poker Club, a poker team in need of custom shirts.
The design was embroidered onto black t-shirts, with team player nicknames designed for the front of each shirt.

Details: Barry’s Magic Shop has been an institution in the Washington DC metro area since the 70’s, but their web presence needed a facelift.
The new design reflects the magic of the store, while still ensuring that Barry’s is a professional resource for magicians of all levels. We also installed a new shopping cart system that processes payments more efficiently, and provides their customers with instant instructional magic videos.

Details: Cool Ghouls came to us looking for a site that showcased their love of all things Halloween.
A flexible interface was crafted to allow a variety of content, and a sense of depth was created through the use of layers and forced perspective. Everything was topped off, literally, with a Flash banner featuring rolling clouds and a lightning storm.

Details: Home Mortgage Services, Inc. suffered from a boring name and no niche market. They called upon us to craft BeachLender.com, a brochure site catering to home buyers who are looking to purchase beach-front property.
Using a seaside color scheme, the final design combines the integrity of a traditional financial institution with fun beach atmosphere elements. We also assisted with stock photography, finding the right images to compliment the site.

Details: A themed attraction based in northern Maryland, the Global Wildlife Safari needed a logo that was colorful and eye-catching, while still conveying the sense of adventure associated with the "classic" safaris of the British colonial era.
This finished result is seen on their website, print materials, maps, tickets, and even some park merchandise.

Details: Blending sophisticated magic performances with wit and high-class humor, magician Peter Wood needed a website that catered to a more corporate crowd, reminding potential clients that magic is not just for kids.
With that in mind, a site took shape that features lots of depth, textures, and realistic objects, pulling in elements like brass rings, a pocket watch, and a golden magic wand to get the image across.

Details: A beautiful wooded wildlife preserve in the mountains of northern Maryland, the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo wanted a website that conveyed two things: the safari adventure feel of a zoo, while maintaining the level of elegance associated with a wildlife preserve.
Working with Digital Bard Video Productions, LLC., we created a site that worked well with existing advertising, and made it easier for guests to find the info they need.

Details: A sleek, event planning logo. Catering to mostly upscale clients, the logo needed to work in a variety of situations, and not have any visual reference as a makeup product.
The only "rouge" about it is the red color ... otherwise it's all class.

Details: Sierra Design and Build combines artistic ideas with expert craftsmanship in home remodeling and renovations.
To set them apart, we designed an eye-catching site based on the work of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. Eye candy abounds as each Sierra portfolio piece is a work of art in its own right.

Details: An upstart aquatic preserve based in Thurmont, Maryland, The Wetlands Preserve required a logo that showed their love of animals, both above and below the water.
In addition to being used in print materials, it also was turned into a "production logo" of sorts by us, with an animated sun rising from the horizon.

Details: For TimelessDeception.com, a "calling card" was needed that said magic and sophistication.
Printed on lush stock with raised ink, the card utilizes the fonts from the website, while pulling in the gloved hand and hat image, immediately cementing the image of "magician."

Details: A logo that appealed to a wide audience was needed, and since the word "magic" is very prominent, the design purposefully doesn't include any iconic hats, rabbits, or wands.

Details: When we began researching other construction company logos, there wasn't much to see. Most of Sierra Design and Build's competition had very bland and boring identities, so it made it all the more exciting to have their logo truly stand apart.
Taking a modern approach, imagine how this logo looks when breezing through a directory of other related companies, featuring hammers and stock fonts. Sierra's logo means business.

Details: Creations By Akita showcases a variety of colorful and eccentric hand-made purses, so the website was designed similarly.
It was crafted to be updated easily, as one-of-a-kind purses are added to and subtracted from the site regularly.

Details: The Performing Arts Factory in Frederick, Maryland needed a good presence on the web, and challenged us to develop a site that provided information about their wide variety of dance and theatre offerings.
The menu is key here, thanks to some menu overlap, users can access the site's from several logical points of entry.

Details: The University of Maryland, Baltimore County Theatre Council of Majors held a 24-hour play festival, wherein students write, design, direct, and produce a few short plays in a 24-hour time span.
A fun, retro clock logo was crafted to use with t-shirts, flyers, and the documentary DVD.

Details: For the 2005 24-Hour Play Fest, the UMBC TheatreCOM needed another logo that conveyed a sense of time and urgency, both of which are important when producing plays within a 24-hour span.
This logo was based on late 80’s news graphics, and was featured in t-shirts, flyers, on-stage projections, and in the documentary DVD.

Details: Creations by Akita wanted a new logo that was fun, lively, and quickly told customers what they were all about.

Other versions have the outer film frame removed, as well as the tagline.

Details: A Florida-based theater group needed a poster for their upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz. The client provided the silhouette image and the poppies, and we filled in the rest.
Other versions have show information on it, and design variations can be used on t-shirts, programs, and their website.

Details: The Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo was in need of a new billboard, so partnered with Digital Bard Video Productions, LLC., we designed this billboard to advertise the zoo’s new African exhibit.
Currently this billboard holds the record as the largest Salt Shaker Studios creation.

Details: The Luxury Exterior Company had a particular niche market in mind, and asked us to help them establish a web presence catering to upscale home renovations.
The website that followed has a strong sense of modern design, and like the online space of any visual artist, is strongly motivated by photos and portfolio pieces.

The dominant font and square icon treatment say "art," while the blueprint-style smaller font subtlety relays the idea of "architecture."

Details: Trinity Lutheran Church's building campaign had an established name, but needed a visual anchor.
Utilizing colors from their Church logo, we created the four box motif and cross tie-in reference. They subsequently used the logo in print material, posters and banners, and on their website.
